Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory:

The GE flat panel Catheterisation lab provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral vascular procedures. The flat-panel detectors help superior imaging quality and more efficient radiation dose improving the detection and intervention of cardiac disease.

GE Innova flat panel digital system - this multi-view camera rotates around the patient, allowing for different X-ray views without moving the patient. Our new cath lab features new state-of-the-art equipment. We use 40 percent less radiation, 40-50 percent less contrast dye, and the image quality is greatly enhanced with the new technology.

In a cardiac catheterization procedure, a physician guides a thin plastic tube called a catheter through an artery in the arm or leg and into the heart and the coronary arteries in the heart. Dye is injected through the catheter into the coronary arteries. This test can measure blood pressure and how much oxygen is in the blood, and detect any blockages which may need to be repaired through interventional means.

Cardiologists perform cardiac catheterizations to diagnose and treat cardiac disease, especially coronary artery disease. Depending on the severity of a patient's case, treatment may include angioplasty and stenting, as well as coronary artery bypass surgery. Accurate, high-quality images are imperative in determining the optimal path of therapy for each patient. Tiny blood vessels of the heart are hard-to-see, and its minute moving structures require an imaging system with finite resolution and distortion-free imaging techniques.

Approximately one-third of patients with coronary artery disease will undergo coronary angioplasty and stenting. Outcomes of angioplasty and stent procedures show a dramatic improvement in morbidity and mortality, as well as the treatment in myocardial infarction patients.

Operating Rooms:

VIVUS-SMRC Heart Centre has the state of art operating suite. Services include but are not limited to:

• CABG - on pump
• CABG - off pump
• Valve Replacement and Repair
• Open Thoracotomy
• Aneurysm Repair ( Thoracic / Abdominal / Pseudo (Groin) )
• Carotid Endartectomy

The surgical OT is located on the first floor of the hospital and is designed to provide cardiac, thoracic and peripheral vascular surgical procedures. The operating room is equipped with the latest homodynamic monitoring equipment and emergency equipment needed to provide quality care.
Patient Focused Care:

VIVUS-SMRC Heart Centre is built for patient-focused care. Our patients have access to advanced technology and surgical techniques in a hospital specially designed for their treatment and recovery. From admission until discharge, patient care focuses on personal needs, comfort and convenience. All rooms are private and are designed and equipped for every stage of patient care. We minimize the transporting of patients, encourage family involvement in the recovery process, and provide a comfortable setting for all involved.
24-Hours Diagnostics:

This 24-hr facility at Vivus SMRC can save many lives e.g., someone getting admitted at 1 a.m. in the morning at the critical care unit gets immediate attention and all diagnostics are performed instantly in-house so that the problem can be identified and the treatment procedure initiated before further deterioration takes place. Round-the-clock services available at the Pharmacy, Pathology, Imaging and Cardiology departments result in tremendous benefits for patients.
Radiology & Imaging:

The Radiology section provides facilities for investigations such as X-Ray, Ultrasound, Special X-Ray, CT scan, etc. These 24-hour services are available for both Indoor as well as Outdoor patients. Report generation is fully computerized.

The Radiology department at Vivus SMRC Heart Centre offers state-of-the-art diagnostic services you'd expect to find in a big city. Our team includes specially trained nurses and licensed radiological technologists certified in CT and ultrasound. Our expert staff complements the comprehensive imaging technology, ensuring excellent patient care and treatment. Providing quality patient care is our primary focus.

A list of specialized medical equipment and procedures which encompass the full range of diagnostic radiology services.
Ultrasound:

The Vivus SMRC Heart Centre boasts of not one but two Ultrasound machines.

GE Voluson 730 Pro

At the top of the line of 4D ultrasound systems, the GE Voluson 730 stands uncontested among its competitors in frame rate and overall image quality for 4D imaging. This is also the unit that always carries the newest technologies first (among the Voluson units), making it the best unit for perinatology, level 2 ultrasounds, research institutions, and others seeking the best, most technically advanced 4D ultrasound on the market. It provides true real time volume data acquisition which enables images to be visualized as never before.

Features:

• 3D/4D Imaging
• Automatic Tissue Optimization
• B, B/M, M Mode
• PW/CW Doppler
• Digital Beamformer with 512 Channels
• Tissue Harmonic Imaging
• Tissue Doppler Imaging
• Power Doppler Imaging

The General Electric Logiq 200 Alpha

One of the most preferred ultrasounds in the OB/GYN market. Its history of reliability, good image quality, and quick-and-easy use made it a leader in the industry. It has solid penetration and is easy to use.

The GE Logiq 200 Alpha has some of the advanced technology used in the higher-end Logiq series of ultrasounds. It has a tilt-and-swivel 12" monitor, programmable presets and an optional 64-frame cine memory. It also runs a linear probe and is used for inserting PICC lines, pain management, chiropractic and other musculoskeletal applications.

X Ray:

There are two X ray machines as well. A workhorse model in the OPD area as well as a mobile machine for use in the wards

Digital X-Ray Flat Panel Detector

The Siemens Digital X-Ray system is accurate, dose-efficient, reliable, adaptable, and capable of seamless integration into the information systems. X-Rays can be stored in both CDs as well as printed out into X-Ray film for conventional viewing.
CT Scan:

The state of the art CT scan uses the principle of "See More. Know More. Less Dose." The Vivus-SMRC Heart Centre machine uses dose savings of upto 70% without any loss of image quality. It provides exceptional patient care with unsurpassed image quality and clinical flexibility never possible before.
